Spring Break 2012

This year because I'm working part time, I got an extra looong spring vacation.  It began Tuesday after work.  My sister, Bryan and the kids came down for a visit.  The kids quickly made themselves at home, stopping first to say hi to Olivia and then they were off to play in the backyard and visit the chickens...

After playing with the chickens Charlie decided to test out some of Olivia's stuff...

While amazingly Olivia spent a few minutes in her swing...

Later in the evening Zach and Bryan went to band night for a while.  When they returned they built a fire and hung out while Anne and I got the kids tucked into the trailer to sleep...

The next morning began with more visits to see the chickens.  Charlie just couldn't get enough of them.  We let them out and watched him run around the yard, chasing them, growling at them...

Emily's precious golden chick...her name is Emily of course!

Jack also got brave enough after watching Emily and tried holding one...

Then it was off to the Snoqualmie Railway Museum to check out the trains...

That evening we walked down to the elementary school to play at the playground...

Emily tested out the smaller version of their zip line...

When we got home from the school we captured some of the funniest videos of the kids chasing the chickens...

Thursday morning the Joneses loaded up and Olivia and I went with them to Mount Vernon.  Once we arrived in Mount Vernon, we got settled in at Grandma Emily's house and then headed back up to the Joneses to dye Easter eggs...

Easter morning Daddy drove up to join us for Olivia's first Easter.  Auntie Anne and Uncle Bryan, Olivia's God parents, got Olivia her first Easter basket and filled it with all sorts of goodies...

Including this beautiful blankie and bunny...

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Patti got her a bunny and a crabby outfit for our annual Labor Day Crab Feed...

What do you get a God daughter who has everything?!  A butterfly garden to grow her very own butterflies...

We attempted a cousins picture...

I think Charlie is pulling his cousin's hair in this picture...

Yep, she's mad...

Then it was outside for everyone's favorite Easter tradition.... CONFETTI EGGS!!!

Emily made special eggs for her and her Uncle Mike.  Little did he know Anne had a hidden surprise inside his...

My sister made Emily and Olivia these adorable matching Easter dresses...

Later on that evening we had a special big screen movie night...

The next day we headed out to Tulip Town...

Olivia chased Butchy the cat around for a while and then it was time to head back home...

Back at home we spent the rest of our spring break going on lots and lots of walks and bike rides...

My mom bought Olivia this adorable hat for Easter...

I bought this bike trailer at Costco a few months back.  Zach put it together and it is by far one of the best purchases we've made.  Olivia loves it...

We had some awesome weather during break.  Zach mowed the lawn and then spent some time enjoying the fruits of his labor...

Olivia has become more and more independent when eating.  Unfortunately this does lead to messier meals, but I'm not going to complain.  I'd rather have her feeding herself and being a good eater...

Mason from down the street came down to show us his new dirt bike...

And of course Daddy had to give it a try...

Olivia is now pulling herself up, standing, and transferring herself from object to object...

You'll have to turn your head.  I can't figure out how to rotate the videos...

Not sure why this one is so blurry, but it's really cute...

One of her favorite games to play is throw all of my toys out of the toy basket...

Friday evening we celebrated Zach and Mary's birthdays...

Olivia's Great-Grandma Doris is 94 years old...

Saturday morning, Zach's birthday, Olivia and I let him sleep in and made him breakfast in bed...

Then he opened his presents...

Zach shares his birthday with our neighbors' daughter, Lily.  That afternoon we went over to Katie and Jesse's to celebrate Lily's 4th birthday.  She had a pirates and fairies party...

It was so nice to have so many days at home with my family!  It was a great spring vacation!
