July Fun Part 1...

We headed over to Zillah again for the third year in a row for the Annual Allan Family Reunion.  Only this year there was some added excitement.  Ty was planning to propose to Beth during the annual auction and everyone knew, but her!

I towed the trailer over Thursday morning since Zach had to work.  I was very nervous, but it went really well!

Friday afternoon the girls (L to R: Shanna, Brandy, Beth, and I) and I headed out to do the Zillah wine tour.  We visited five wineries and had a great time!

Jones farm is famous in Eastern Washington so I had to snap a quick picture for the Joneses!

At Bonair, one the wineries, there was this cute dog.  He made himself right at home with the guests sitting in chairs at the tables...

The winery landscapes were beautiful...

It was hot, hot, hot while we were there, reaching 103 degrees.  Later Friday afternoon we blew up Olivia's pool so she could cool off...

Max and Kade quickly joined her...

Later that evening the men all played bean bag toss in the front yard...

Then it was time for the festivities to begin...the annual pig roast.  In past years they have roasted a whole pig, but since so much goes to waste this year they decided to just roast pig butt (which is really the shoulder).  It's quite the process.  A huge fire has to be built, then around 2 or 3 AM when all coals are really hot, the pig is put in the ground to slowly roast for about 12 hours...

The heat didn't seem to bother Olivia too much.  We did our best to keep her in the shade, slathered in sun screen, and she played and played...

Shanna and Zach kicked all of the kids out of the pool and cooled off themselves as well...

Then it was time to take the pig out of the ground...

Olivia played in her pool some more...

And then it was time for the much anticipated auction...

Traditionally Zach is always the auctioneer...

Our contribution this year was these fun shirts that I made...

Ty put the ring in the auction and Zach played it off like one of the "salt and peppers" had donated it to help out.  First the "spec" card was sent around, some more bidding took place on other items, and then they auctioned the ring off.

Beth sat next to me completely unsuspectingly...

Until Ty yelled out from the back of the crowd and bid the final bid, walked up to the front of the auction, and in front of all of his friends and family proposed to Beth!  It was awesome!!!

Ty's parents with him and Beth...

The band played...

And Olivia woke up around 11 and decided to join the party for a while before I had to put her back to bed...

She found a full 7-up can and thought it was absolutely hilarious to pretend drinking it...

She said good night to Duke and was off to bed again...

Sunday morning we headed for home before it got too hot.  It was the perfect start to our fun filled July...
